Five Hop Winter Ale is best described as New World Extra Special Bitter. This is a ‘Brewer’s Beer’ with a lot going on but with the ultimate aim of balance. The candied sugar malt flavours which linger on the palate are balanced by the high bitterness level. The higher alcohol content gives a warming mouth feel. This is an ale with a low carbonation level which maximises the flavour.

It can either be poured carefully off the lees or alternatively with the lees mixed in if a strong yeast character is desired. Five Hop Winter Ale is best served at approximately 6-8ºC. Enjoy in a tulip glass or large bowled red wine glass to maximise flavour release. This ale is an ideal food match with roast meats especially lamb shanks.
