As the primary sponsor of Formula One Grand Prix, Mumm is often seen spraying racing car drivers on the victory podiums. However, Mumm has a long history in the Champagne region and is one of the larger Champagne houses, established in 1827 by a family of German wine merchants. Mumm sources fruit from a variety of vineyard sites in the Champagne region with a focus on quality growers.
Mumm Champagne is always known for its freshness and vitality. There are aromas of lemon curd, arrowroot, minerals and citrus and the palate pretty much echoes the same. The wine is very clean and shows some smoky complexity amongst the primary fruit characters. Mumm is surprisingly dry for a plush, fruit driven style and is a great Champagne for cocktail parties and as an aperitif.
